The Municipal Solid Waste Management Board (MSWMB) of Lubuagan visits the Lubuagan Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located at Awichon, Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan on May 31.
The MSWMB conducted site inspection at the Lubuagan MRF after reports were made regarding the dumping of waste on the area. Garbages welcomed the team upon arriving near the entrance of the MRF.
The Municipal Solid Waste Management Board (MSWMB) of Lubuagan convenes for its First Semestral Meeting on May 29.
The meeting was presided by the MSWMB vice chairperson, Ms. Ailleen Melody E. Alya-on, the municipal planning and development coordinator (MPDC) and designated municipal environment and natural resources officer (MENRO). Agenda included the discussion on the status of Lubuagan with regard to solid waste management.
The board reviewed R.A. 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and its prohibitions which include littering, throwing, dumping of waste matters in public places, open burning of solid waste, establishment or operation of open dumps, among others. With the observation that some of these prohibitions are violated in the community, the board laid out its plans of a strengthened and strategic information and education campaign (IEC) in barangay communities, schools, business establishments and even in government offices.

The municipal government of Lubuagan, in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Kalinga and Kalinga State University (KSU), conduct the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Mandatory Training for the SK Officials of the municipality of Lubuagan on May 17.
