The municipal government of Lubuagan, in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Kalinga and Kalinga State University (KSU), conduct the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Mandatory Training for the SK Officials of the municipality of Lubuagan on May 17.
36 SK officials from the 9 barangays of Lubuagan attended the one-day training which was held at the Lubuagan Eco-Tourism and Cultural Center. The training covered the discussion on local governance, code of conduct for government officials, planning and budgeting and parliamentary procedures. Other topics also covered the SK History and the salient features of Republic Act No. 10742 or the SK Reform Act of 2015.
Lecturers are from KSU in the persons of Mr. Juan Moshe Duyan, Atty. Johnny Wayet and Mr. John John Venus. Others were Ms. Ansherina Rose Odiem and Ms. Lolita Pallogan from the municipal government of Lubuagan.
The SK Mandatory and Continuing Training is one of the key reforms under R.A. 10742. Deliberate failure to attend said training programs constitute sufficient ground to disqualify the SK officials or subject them to disciplinary actions.
In Kalinga, Lubuagan is first to conduct the SK Mandatory Training. | MIO/ARBO
